How to move 12Pay to a new PC.
- Firstly, you will need to copy and paste the backup files from the old computer on to a pen-drive (memory stick) or another form of external media. You can find the backup files within the 12Pay folder and this can be found in ‘Documents‘.
- Download 12Pay on to the new computer, Click here to download. Download the installation file to your computer and then run it to install 12Pay.
- Once this has been installed you will see that the 12Pay folder has again been created in ‘Documents‘ on the new PC, you can then copy and paste the contents on the pen-drive inside this new 12Pay folder.
- Open 12Pay and create a new employer file when you are prompted to do so.
- When 12Pay asks you to create a new payroll frequency (Monthly, weekly, 2 weekly or 4 weekly) you can cancel this as you will now restore from your most recent backup (‘File’ | ‘Restore’) which will pull through all the information such as the company and employee details and all the payroll which has been processed so far.
- Select the correct backup to restore from within the 12Pay folder, again in ‘Documents’ and click ‘Open’.
- You can now see all the information from before, at this point it will now be beneficial to licence the software providing you have already purchased a Premium or Bureau licence. To do this click on ‘File’ and ‘Licence’ and enter your Internet User and Internet Password, you can then click on the ‘Retrieve from Internet’ button which will load your existing licence.
